Both the UAHuntsville Chamber Choir and Concert Choir had an amazing experience in late February when composer, Tarik O'Regan, came for a visit. He worked with both choirs, and gave some valuable feedback. On Feb. 26, the UAHuntsville Concert Choir, UNA Chamber Choir and members of Suzanne Purtee's Nativity Episcopal Church choir sang the U.S. premiere of his work,
Martyr. We were honored to work with the Huntsville Symphony Youth Orchestra on this project; many thanks for Joe Lee and Deborah Brown for their hard work. The piece, along with the Haydn "Lord Nelson Mass", was a HUGE success.
The UAHuntsville Chamber Choir also performed O'Regan's
Threshold of Night on the same concert. We've been working on this piece all year, but that was -- by far -- our best performance. We are looking forward to touring with more of O'Regan's music in late March throughout southern California.
